AI Utilization & Digital Ethics Policy

Our Philosophy: Technology in Service of Truth

We believe that the pursuit of knowledge requires both a deep respect for history and an embrace of modern tools. To ensure our message is communicated with maximum clarity, we utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a foundational “building block” for our research and synthesis.

However, we believe that the “soul” of our work—the original ideas, the moral compass, and the final conclusions—must remain exclusively human.

Our Ground Rules for AI Utilization

1. Research Scaffolding, Not Content Creation

We use AI tools primarily for synthesis and organization. This includes identifying historical patterns, summarizing vast datasets, and connecting historical context to our original theories. No original content, articles, or research papers are produced by AI. Every word you read on our platform has been written or refined by a human author.

2. Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) Accountability

No AI output is ever accepted at face value. Every insight derived from AI assistance undergoes a rigorous “Human-in-the-Loop” review process. We take full responsibility for the accuracy, tone, and intent of our published work.

3. Fact-Checking and Hallucination Mitigation

AI is known to occasionally produce “hallucinations” or incorrect facts. Therefore, our policy dictates that any historical date, quote, or data point surfaced via AI must be cross-referenced against primary sources or verified academic databases before being included in our “building blocks.”

4. Data Privacy and Security

To protect the integrity of our intellectual property and the privacy of our community, we do not input proprietary research or sensitive personal data into public AI models. We utilize secure, enterprise-grade environments to ensure our data remains ours alone.

5. Ethical Bias Screening

We recognize that AI models can inherit biases from their training data. We proactively audit AI-assisted research to ensure it meets our standards for objective, fair, and inclusive inquiry, particularly when analyzing complex historical narratives.

6. Transparency of Process

We are committed to being “Open by Default.” If a specific tool or data visualization was significantly assisted by AI, we will provide a clear disclosure label (e.g., “Visual data synthesized with AI assistance”).

7. Attribution and Primary Source Sovereignty

We believe that AI should never obscure the original thinkers, historians, and creators whose work forms the basis of human knowledge. Our commitment to sourcing includes:

  • Mandatory Primary Source Verification: AI-generated summaries are used only as a map. We commit to locating and citing the primary document, book, or record to ensure the original creator is properly credited.
  • Anti-Plagiarism Checks: Even when AI is used to synthesize ideas, we ensure that no “scaffolded” content inadvertently mirrors existing copyrighted work too closely.
  • Historical Traceability: When AI helps connect a historical idea to a modern one, we provide the lineage of that idea, citing the original historical figures or movements that birthed it.
